On the evening of June 2, gunshots were reportedly fired near the premises of Khan Global Studies (KGS), one of Bihar's most well-known coaching institutes. According to reports, unidentified individuals vandalised parts of the office before fleeing the scene.

During the chaos, one of Khan Sir's private security guards was injured and later taken to a hospital for treatment. Police teams quickly reached the location, secured the area, and began collecting evidence. The incident triggered concern among students and parents, given the popularity of the institute and the large number of students who visit the area every day.

Rival Coaching Director Questions The Incident

The case became more complicated when Roshan Anand, who runs another coaching centre in Patna, rejected allegations linking him to the attack.

Anand has claimed that the firing incident was not a genuine attack but a carefully planned publicity stunt. He alleged that Khan Sir himself orchestrated the episode to attract sympathy and strengthen his public image. These accusations have added a fresh dimension to the investigation, forcing police to examine multiple versions of events.

Khan Sir Says Affordable Education Is Under Attack

Khan Sir has strongly denied any wrongdoing and insists that he is being targeted because his coaching institute offers education at comparatively low fees.

According to him, some competitors are unhappy with the popularity of affordable coaching programmes and see his institute as a threat to their business. He has previously accused a nearby coaching centre of being linked to the violence and submitted CCTV footage to police as part of his complaint.

During his address, Khan Sir linked the controversy to the larger issue of affordable education. Holding up a book while speaking to students, he suggested that if institutions like KGS were weakened or shut down, coaching fees could once again become unaffordable for many students.

He argued that accessible education should remain available to students from all backgrounds and claimed that efforts were being made to silence voices advocating lower-cost learning opportunities.

Patna Police have arrested five individuals in connection with the incident so far and continue to investigate the allegations from both sides. Officers are examining CCTV footage, questioning witnesses, and verifying claims made by Khan Sir as well as those made by rival coaching operators.

Investigators are expected to determine whether the attack was a genuine act of violence, the result of a rivalry between coaching centres, or part of a larger dispute.
