Rahul Gandhi Slams Mohan Bhagwat: 'Would Be Arrested In Any Other Country'
During the inauguration of Congress’s new headquarters, Indira Bhawan, Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the ruling BJP and the RSS. He alleged that the battle was no longer just between political parties, but between Congress and the Indian state itself, accusing the BJP and RSS of taking control of every institution in the country, as reported by ANI.

'Fighting the Indian State, Not Just the BJP-RSS': Rahul Gandhi
In his address, Rahul Gandhi emphasized the ideological struggle between the Congress and the BJP-RSS alliance. He stated, "Our ideology, like the RSS ideology, is thousands of years old, and we have been fighting their ideology for just as long." He continued, "This is not a fair fight. If you think we are fighting a political organization, you have misunderstood the situation. The BJP and RSS have captured every single institution of the country. We are now fighting the BJP, the RSS, and the Indian state itself."
Allegations Against Indian Institutions and the Media
The Congress leader further criticized the functioning of various Indian institutions, claiming that it was unclear whether they were working or non-functional. He specifically highlighted concerns regarding the media, alleging that it was no longer free and fair. "The media is no longer doing its job. People know the media is compromised," he added, as reported by ANI.
Election Commission under Scrutiny
Rahul Gandhi once again targeted the Election Commission (EC), questioning its transparency and fairness. Referring to the Maharashtra elections, he said, "The sudden appearance of almost one crore new voters between the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections in Maharashtra raises serious concerns." He accused the EC of failing to provide a voters' list with names and addresses, undermining the transparency expected from the body. Gandhi demanded that the Election Commission clarify the situation, stating it was their responsibility to ensure a free and transparent election process.
Alleged BJP Agenda to Suppress Minority and Dalit Voices
Rahul Gandhi also spoke out against the BJP's alleged attempts to suppress the voices of minorities, backward castes, Dalits, and tribals. He argued that the BJP wanted to create a one-man rule, undermining democratic values. "They want India to be run by one man, crushing the voices of Dalits, minorities, backward castes, and tribals. This is their agenda," he stated, as per ANI reports.
Congress: The Only Party That Can Stop the BJP Agenda
In his closing remarks, Rahul Gandhi confidently asserted that the Congress was the only party capable of stopping the BJP’s alleged agenda. "No other party can stop them. The Congress party is the only one that can," he said, highlighting the deep-rooted ideology of the Congress as a counter to BJP-RSS's vision. Gandhi also accused those in power of disregarding the national flag and the Constitution, calling their vision of India fundamentally different from that of the Congress.
Congress HQ Inauguration: A Historic Moment
Earlier, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also shared his views on the historic significance of the new headquarters. He pointed out that the new office, designed to meet the needs of modern-day administrative and strategic functions, was a long-awaited realization of a vision laid out by Jawaharlal Nehru in 1952. Kharge stated that the establishment of the Indira Gandhi Bhawan marked a milestone in the party’s history, fulfilling Nehru's dream of a permanent Congress headquarters, as pere media reports.
A Historic Building for a Historic Party
The Indira Gandhi Bhawan, located at 9A Kotla Road in New Delhi, is not just an office but a symbol of Congress’s legacy spanning over 139 years. The building is designed to accommodate the evolving needs of the party and will support its organizational, strategic, and administrative functions moving forward.
This inauguration comes at a time when the Congress, led by Rahul Gandhi, is preparing for upcoming elections while also challenging the BJP-RSS’s alleged control over India’s institutions.
