Man Attacks Arvind Kejriwal With Liquid In Delhi's Greater Kailash, Detained

Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal faced an unexpected attack during a padyatra in South Delhi's Malviya Nagar, where a man identified as Ashok Jha threw water on him.

The incident, caught on camera, showed security personnel and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supporters restraining and roughing up the attacker, as Kejriwal assessed the situation.

Police confirmed that Ashok Jha, a local resident, has been detained and is currently under questioning.

AAP Slams BJP Over Repeated Attacks

Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj strongly condemned the incident, linking it to a broader breakdown of law and order under the BJP-led central government.

"Shootouts, gang wars, and extortion have become commonplace in Delhi. While crimes like the gym owner's murder in Greater Kailash and the stabbing in Panchsheel Park continue unabated, repeated attacks on Arvind Kejriwal show the BJP's failure to maintain law and order," Bharadwaj stated.

He also highlighted previous incidents, alleging that Kejriwal was targeted during public events in Nangloi and Chhatarpur.

The Aam Aadmi Party raised concerns about the safety of its leaders and Delhi residents. "If a former chief minister is not safe in the capital, what hope is there for ordinary citizens?" the party questioned.

AAP also accused the BJP of orchestrating attacks to undermine its leadership, citing a similar incident in Vikaspuri last month. "The BJP knows it cannot defeat AAP in elections, so it resorts to dirty politics and violence to target Arvind Kejriwal," Delhi Chief Minister Atishi remarked.

This attack has added fuel to an ongoing debate about the state of law and order in the national capital. AAP leaders have demanded accountability from the central government and Home Minister Amit Shah, holding them responsible for ensuring safety in Delhi.
