Early Winter Break Announced For Delhi Schools Starting November 9-18 Due To Smog
Due to the concerning levels of pollution in the national capital region, the Delhi Government has advanced the winter break for Delhi schools. According to the official announcement, Delhi schools will now commence their winter break from November 9.
"In view of air pollution, the December winter break of all schools has been rescheduled, now to be from November 9-18," the notice read.

On Wednesday morning, the air quality index (AQI) in Delhi regressed to the "severe" category after maintaining a "very poor" rating for an extended period the previous day. With Delhi schools forced to close once more due to the persisting pollution issue, numerous parents have voiced concerns about the effectiveness of virtual learning compared to in-person classes. They are urging the government to identify a long-term solution.
While some parents expressed frustration about the unavailability of necessary equipment required for online classes, others proposed that students should be proactively informed about contingency plans in place when the air quality index (AQI) starts to deteriorate, in order to avoid a sudden transition to virtual learning.
