Delhi Police Crime Branch Team Reaches Arvind Kejriwal's Residence To Serve Notice

A team of Delhi Police's Crime Branch wing arrived at the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday to investigate allegations leveled by Aam AAdmi Party supremo against the Bharatiya Janata Party. Earlier last week, Delhi CM alleged that the saffron has been trying to poach AAP MLAs. To investigate the matter, the police team led by an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP)-level officer arrived at Delhi CM's Civil Lines residence but were not allowed to enter by officers deputed at CM's security.

However, the Delhi Chief Minister's Office told media that the "CM office is ready to accept the notice. Crime Branch officers are not giving receiving to the CM office."

After the Delhi Police Crime Branch team returned, the Chief Minister's Office stated that the police refused to hand over the notice to the CMO. The CMO also asked about the point of bringing media crews along and stated it was a move to defame the Chief Minister.

"The police's aim is to defame the CM, not to serve the notice," the CMO said.

On Friday, the Crime Branch team also visited Delhi Minister Atishi's house, when she was not home. However, the Delhi-ruling party claimed that they received no notices were delivered during the police's visit.

"The officials from the chief minister's office were ready to accept the notice but the Delhi Police left without handing over anything," an AAP spokesperson said.

Reports said that the Delhi police came to action after Delhi BJP submitted a complaint to Commissioner Sanjay Arora stating Kejriwal has been making false allegations.
