Delhi-NCR Weather Update: Rain, Thunderstorm Predicted As Flights Get Diverted Again

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh alert for light rain and thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds in Delhi over the next 2 to 3 hours. Winds are expected to reach speeds of 40-50 kmph, with gusts going up to 60 kmph, the department said in its latest forecast.

This warning follows a turbulent day on Sunday when strong gusty winds and heavy rains swept across the National Capital Region (NCR), leading to the diversion of 14 Delhi-bound flights. Among the impacted flights was a Delhi-bound IndiGo plane that had to abort landing due to extreme wind speeds touching 80 kmph.

Rain Forecast for Rajasthan Due to Western Disturbance

In addition to Delhi, several areas of Rajasthan are also likely to experience rain and thunderstorms from Monday, owing to the activation of a western disturbance.

On Sunday, light rainfall was observed in parts of Jaipur division, while most other areas in the state remained dry.
