Delhi Influencer’s Free Meal Stunt At Five-Star Hotel Goes Awry. Here's What Happens Next | WATCH

A Delhi-based content creator nearly managed to snag a free meal at a five-star hotel by posing as a guest, only to be rumbled and made to cough up ₹3,600 for the breakfast she'd just savoured, reported Hindustan Times.

Nishu Tiwari slipped into pyjamas and drove to a swanky hotel in the national capital, where she fed the staff a fake room number and bluffed her way into the breakfast buffet area.

There, Tiwari and her team member tucked into a lavish breakfast and might have pulled it off-if her colleague hadn't left their phone behind in the dining area. When the staff rang the room number Tiwari had given, they twigged they'd been duped.

The Delhi lass was stopped and asked to explain herself, after which she offered to pay for the meal.

"The hotel staff was laughing with us. They were also surprised to realise someone could trick them like this," Tiwari told HT.com.

How to Sneak a Free Breakfast

Tiwari explained that the stunt was part of her 'Unethical Life Hacks' series, where she experiments with morally dubious tricks. Earlier this month, she and her team member donned pyjamas and headed to a plush five-star hotel in Delhi's upscale Chanakyapuri area to test if they could blag a free breakfast by pretending to be guests.

To sell the ruse, the content creator even brought along a robe. Outside the hotel's breakfast area, she provided a room number where she wasn't actually staying, having sourced it from a blog post about the hotel.

The staff didn't challenge her story and escorted her into the breakfast room, where she dug into a hearty spread, hardly believing her luck. "Mujhe vishwas nahi ho raha ki ye hack sach mein kaam kar gaya (I can't believe this hack actually worked)," she tells the camera at one point.

No Such Thing as a Free Breakfast

Tiwari said that her team member forgetting their phone inside unravelled their scheme. Having already left the hotel after their successful con, they had to double back. When staff asked her to confirm her room number, Tiwari gave them 3206.

The staff then pointed out that a guest with a different name was registered in that room. Tiwari tried to brush it off as an innocent mix-up, claiming they'd gone to the wrong hotel. Admitting they weren't actual guests, the Delhi influencer ended up forking out over ₹3,600 for the meal.

The Reactions

Her video sparked a mix of criticism and chuckles online.

"What type of joker are you?" one person asked. "Haha it was fun watching this," another commented.

"It is possible you might have made this video as a joke, but the people who are watching your video can get such idea. So why should we give such a message that people get inclined to do such things?" queried an Instagram user. "I did not find this video funny from any angle, I hope that your video did not send the wrong message to anyone, otherwise, many people get into trouble and such names also get spoiled."

Some questioned the video's authenticity, with one writing: "You briefed the hotel about this reel isn't? No hotel buffet or lounge allows video shoots like that." Tiwari hit back, insisting that hotel staff don't stop people from filming themselves.
