6:40 pm: Kejriwal announces more development agendas
Arvind Kejriwal has announced more development agendas for the people of the state, especially the ones living on the streets. He has announced that the 45 'Rain Baseres' that are used to shelter the poor during winter be changed into permanent structures or POTA cabins in he next 3-4 days. SDMs have been ordered to identify areas in their territory where the cabins can be built and check whether the shelters in their areas are working fine. A deadline of January 4 has been set for the SDMs to submit their reports for the same.
6:15 pm: Kejriwal requested to wait for HC order
Opposing the Delhi Government's move to seek CAG's help for power auditing, the DISCOMS have asked Kejriwal to wait for the HC report before any action.
4.18 pm: Arun Jaitley takes on AAP
BJP leader Arun Jaitley today hit out at Arvind Kejriwal ans his government saying that the free water scheme was not benefiting the poor. "Houses without meter or with defective meters are not entitled to the water subsidy," Jaitley said.
3.18 pm: BJP hits out at AAP
A day after the Delhi assembly witnessed its first session, BJP's Dr Harshvardhan said that he wished the best for the newly elected Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
However on questioning on the two major steps taken by the Kejriwal government, Harshvardhan refused to comment and questioned as to why there was no probe against Sheila Dikshit and other Congress leaders that were involved in corruption scams.
2.25 pm: Trying for CAG audit for power supply companies says Kejriwal
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today said that the party was trying for the CAG audit for power supply companies. "I am leaving for the secretariat to know the follow up," he said.
He also agreed and said that though the subsidies were not sustainable but it would give immediate relief from high power prices.
2.00 pm: Delhi assembly session begins
Members of the AAP including Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal attended the first session of the Delhi Cabinet today. All the newly elected members were seen taking an oath in the Delhi assembly.
However Congress and AAP were caught in a war of words where the Congress alleged that the 'AAP kept attacking the party.'
10.30 am: AAP to seek vote of confidence
The AAP today will sit in the first session of the Delhi Cabinet. The session is expected to continue for seven days and during this Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is expected to seek a vote of confidence.
10.20 am: After water, Kejriwal slashes electricity tariff
A day after the Kejriwal ensured free water supply to the residents of Delhi, power tariff was slashed by half, much to the relief of the common man. On Tuesday, Kejriwal announced that government would provide a 50 percent subsidy on power consumption up to 400 units a month.
