BJP calls for Mysuru bandh over its worker's death

Mysuru-Kodagu MP and BJP leader Pratap Simha on Saturday called for bandh in 4 taluks of Mysuru over BJP worker Magali Ravi's death. Simha called his death a political murder and called for a bandh in taluks of Periyapatna, Hunsur, H D Kote and K R Nagar on Monday.

Speaking to the media about Ravi's death the BJP MP said, "Ravi was killed while returning from peace talks arranged by the police between people of different faiths over Tipu Jayanthi celebrations. This is the 6th such incident in the last 2 years and speaks volumes about the law and order situation".

Simha urged the government to initiate action immediately and not play politics over the issue.

B S Yeddyurappa blames Siddaramaiah

Reacting to the party worker's death, BJP's Karnataka State President B S Yeddyurappa held Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah directly responsible for Ravi's death. "Almost 14 pro-hindu activists and RSS members have been killed during Congress government in Karnataka. It is high time that the government quits vote bank politics in the name of Tipu Jayanthi and work towards restoring law and order in the State".

BJP worker Magali Ravi was found dead near Periyapatna on Friday evening. His family suspect it to be a case of murder and a case under Sec 302 has been filed accordingly.
