Swiggy Instamart’s Free 'Tinda' Has A Hidden Message For Voters – Do You Know What It Is?
Swiggy Instamart, the quick-commerce arm of the popular food delivery service Swiggy, has launched a creative campaign to encourage voter participation in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. The initiative, which has quickly gained attention, offers free 'tinda' (Indian round gourd) with certain orders in Mumbai, as reported by Times Now.
The connection between 'tinda' and the elections is revealed in the message printed on the paper bags used for the deliveries. A Mumbai-based user, Eesha Tirodkar, posted a viral image on X (formerly Twitter), showing a paper bag with a free 'tinda' and the message urging people to vote. The message playfully uses the rhyming word 'tinda' to encourage citizens to engage in the democratic process.

Swiggy Instamart's campaign has been widely praised for its creative yet impactful way of urging people to vote in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections. The fun and light-hearted approach contrasts with the serious issue of encouraging voter turnout, especially among younger voters.
Voters in Maharashtra are heading to the polls today to elect their next government in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections. All 288 constituencies vote in a single phase, marking an important day in the state's political calendar.
The election campaign wrapped up on Monday, with the BJP-led Mahayuti coalition aiming to retain power, while the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance hopes to replace the ruling government.
Polling started at 7 am and will continue until 6 pm. Voters across the state are casting their votes to decide the future of Maharashtra.
According to the Election Commission of India's guidelines, exit poll results can only be released after voting has ended. Predictions will be available from 6.30 pm onwards, once polling stations have closed. This ensures that voters are not influenced by exit polls before they cast their votes, maintaining the integrity of the election process. The premature release of exit polls could potentially sway undecided voters or create a bandwagon effect, which might distort the election's outcome.
The results of the Maharashtra Assembly elections will be announced after vote counting on November 23.
The campaign by Swiggy Instamart highlights the importance of voting and encourages citizens to take part in shaping the future of Maharashtra.
