Rajasthan assembly poll: BJP set for a comeback

Mumbai, Sept 18: A CVoter poll survey has predicted the return of the BJP to power in Rajasthan after five years, according to a Times Now report. According to the survey, the BJP is set to get a comfortable majority of 118 seats out of 200 (40 more than 2008) while the ruling Congress's tally is set to come down from 96 to 64. The BSP is likely to win three seats (three less than 2008).

Union minister Sachin Pilot, who hails from this state, was not ready to accept the figures and believed Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's two recent rallies have worked wonders. BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman countered this by saying the big yatra undertaken by the BJP's chief ministerial candidate Vasundhara Raje had a massive impact on the people.

She also said that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot went to a hybernation and followed an agenda set by the opposition.

BJP leader Manavendra Singh said his party will hit back in the next election.

Vasundhara Raje (BJP) - 44%

Ashok Gehlot (Cong) - 25%

Sachin Pilot (Cong) - 5%

CP Joshi (Cong) - 4%

Preferred PM candidate among Rajasthan voters:

Modi - 48%

Manmohan Singh - 8%

Rahul Gandhi - 17%

Sushma Swaraj - 3%
