Navi Mumbai Metro: Ticket Prices Cut, Service Hours Extended For Commuters From This Date

In a welcome move for metro passengers in Navi Mumbai, the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) has announced a significant reduction in metro ticket fares for the Belapur-Pendhar corridor. The new fare structure, effective from September 7, will see fares cut by up to 33 per cent. The minimum fare will now be Rs 10, while the maximum has been capped at Rs 30.

The updated fare system offers better value for money with increased travel distances for each fare slab. Under the new rates, a ticket will cost Rs 10 for up to four kilometres, Rs 20 for four to eight kilometres, and Rs 30 for distances over eight kilometres. Previously, the fare from Belapur Terminal to Pendhar was Rs 40; it is now reduced to Rs 30.

In addition to the fare reduction, CIDCO has also extended the operational timings of the Navi Mumbai Metro service. Starting in April, metro services will now begin at 6 am from both Belapur and Pendhar stations. The last metro train will depart at 11 pm from Belapur and at 10:30 pm from Pendhar. This extension applies to all days of the week.

The Belapur-Pendhar Line-1 of the Navi Mumbai Metro features 11 stations along its 11.1-kilometre route, with the train depot located at Taloja Panchanand.

Vijay Singhal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of CIDCO, stated in Hindustan Times, "The fare reduction and extended timings aim to make the metro service more accessible and convenient for both short- and long-distance commuters."

The Navi Mumbai Metro Corridor No. 1, which connects Belapur to Pendhar, is part of CIDCO's Navi Mumbai Metro project and enhances connectivity to key areas such as CBD, Taloja MIDC, and CIDCO's housing complexes in Kharghar. Metro services on this line began on November 17 last year.
