Mumbai's Metro 3 Update: Second Phase Reaches 86 Per Cent Completion, Launch Nears
The much-anticipated Colaba to Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) Metro 3 line's second phase is progressing rapidly, bringing hope to the residents of Mumbai.
More than 86 per cent of the work from BKC to Colaba has been completed, and the route is expected to be operational soon, offering Mumbaikars a faster and more efficient mode of transportation.

The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) is overseeing the construction of the 33.5-kilometre-long Metro 3 line, which includes 27 stations. In the first phase, the route from Aarey to BKC will be opened for traffic, featuring a total of 10 stations.
The MMRC has already conducted an inspection of this metro line with the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) team. The next step involves an inspection by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS). Once the CMRS certificate is obtained, passenger services can commence for the first phase.
Simultaneously, the second phase of the metro line has also accelerated. Overall, 92.2 per cent of both phases have been completed, with civil works reaching 99.3 per cent completion.
Delay In Security Check
Although the MMRC initially announced that the first phase of Metro 3, from Aarey to BKC, would be operational by May, the security check has caused delays. Consequently, Mumbaikars will have to wait a bit longer for this route to begin operations.
