Mumbai-Solapur And Goa-Solapur: FLY91 Launches New Direct Flights This December

Regional air carrier FLY91 has announced the launch of two new direct flight services connecting Solapur with Mumbai and Goa, starting from December 23, according to the Financial Express report. This addition brings the airline's network to a total of nine destinations across India, enhancing regional connectivity.

The new routes, Goa-Solapur and Mumbai-Solapur, are aimed at improving air travel access in underserved regions, in line with the Central Government's UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme. This initiative focuses on increasing air connectivity to remote and smaller cities, providing more affordable and convenient travel options for residents and businesses in these areas.

Manoj Chacko, Managing Director and CEO of FLY91, emphasised in Financial Express that the airline would be the first to offer direct flights between Mumbai, the financial capital of India, and Solapur, a major textile and industrial hub in southwest Maharashtra. He also noted that the new Goa-Solapur route would make Goa, a popular tourism destination, more easily accessible to residents of Solapur and nearby areas.

FLY91 began operations in March 2024, and since then, the airline has expanded its services to cities like Mumbai, Pune, Jalgaon, Sindhudurg, and Solapur in Maharashtra. It also connects to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Agatti in Lakshadweep, helping to further strengthen regional air travel.

The new direct flights are expected to provide more convenient travel options for both business and leisure passengers, especially as the Christmas and New Year travel season approaches. These routes also align with FLY91's broader goal of making air travel more accessible to smaller cities and regional hubs.

The airline operates from Goa's newly established Manohar International Airport and continues to expand its reach, offering more affordable and efficient travel options across India.
