Mumbai Monsoon Alert: 18 Days Of Dangerous High Tides — Stay Off The Beaches On These Dates
The Mumbai Municipal Corporation has issued an important warning for citizens ahead of the monsoon season. From June to September, the sea will be rough on 18 days, with waves expected to rise over four and a half feet, according to a Lokmat report. On these days, it will be dangerous to visit the beaches.
Every year, many Mumbaikars go to the beaches to enjoy the monsoon. But high tides during this season can be risky. To prevent accidents, the civic body has released a list of dates when high tides are likely to occur and is asking people to stay safe.
Here are the 18 high tide days:
June: 24, 25, 26, 27, 28
July: 24, 25, 26, 27
August: 10, 11, 12, 13, 24
September: 8, 9, 10, 11
Note: Waves expected from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm.
On these dates, the sea will be at its highest, and entering the beach areas could be very dangerous.
Safety Measures
The Mumbai Municipal Corporation has said that on these days, people will not be allowed near the beach. Police officers and municipal staff will be present to make sure no one enters the danger zones.
This alert is to protect lives and prevent any mishaps during the monsoon season. Citizens are requested to listen to safety advice and avoid going near the sea on the listed dates.
The civic body has also asked residents to spread the message and help keep everyone safe.
