Mumbai Local Train Stabbing: 16-Year-Old Arrested For Fatal Attack
A 16-year-old boy was arrested for fatally stabbing a co-passenger, Ankush Bhagwan Bhalerao, following a dispute escalated over a seat on a Mumbai local train. The altercation, which initially began on a fast train from Titwala to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, led to an unfortunate turn of events the following morning. Ankush, who encountered the teenager again at the station, was assaulted with a knife, leading to injuries that proved fatal upon his arrival at Rajawadi Hospital.
The Kurla railway police sprung into action, detaining the minor and his older brother on Wednesday, following the attack. The older sibling was arrested for aiding the minor in concealing evidence related to the crime. Investigations into the matter revealed that the teenager had taken drastic measures to avoid detection, including disposing of the murder weapon on his house's roof and altering his appearance by cutting his hair. Following his confession during interrogation, the minor was sent to a juvenile detention center to await further proceedings.According to the reports, the tragic incident happened on November 15 at Ghatkopar station.
