Vistara and SpiceJet have both rerouted flights due to severe weather conditions affecting Mumbai Airport, which has been hit by continuous downpours.

Vistara Airlines has announced on X, formerly known as Twitter that Flight UK696, which was travelling from Amritsar to Mumbai, has been rerouted to Ahmedabad. The decision was made due to severe weather conditions affecting Mumbai Airport.

In a related update, Flight UK963, travelling from Delhi to Mumbai, has been diverted to Ahmedabad due to similar weather disruptions affecting the Mumbai Airport.

SpiceJet has similarly informed passengers through a post on X about the impact of adverse weather conditions. The airline stated, "Due to bad weather (heavy rain) in Mumbai (BOM), all departures and arrivals, along with their consequential flights, may be affected. Passengers are advised to monitor their flight status."

Mumbai is currently grappling with intense rainfall, leading to extensive waterlogging and significant disruptions to public transport. The city is enduring its fourth consecutive day of heavy downpours. The weather department has issued warnings for Mumbai and its surrounding areas, including Pune, Thane, and Palghar.
The weather office has forecasted that moderate to heavy rain will persist throughout the day, exacerbating the challenging conditions. On Friday, central Mumbai recorded 78 mm of rain, while the eastern and western parts of the city received 57 mm and 67 mm, respectively.
The persistent rainfall has caused considerable inconvenience for commuters and travellers. Authorities are working to manage the impact on transportation and ensure safety amid the adverse weather.
