Parekh was then arrested by the police and initial medical reports suggested that she was under the influence of alcohol.
According to reports, Parekh had locked herself in her car for hours after the accident fearing public outrage. Later on women constables were called who then took her to the police station.
This comes days after lawyer Jhanvi Gadkar was caught driving under the influence of alcohol and killed two persons.
In the early hours of June 10, an Audi driven by Gadkar rammed a taxi, resulting in the death of two persons including the taxi driver on the Eastern Freeway.
