Mangaluru Airport Receives Bomb Threat Linked To Controversial TN Cases
Mangaluru International Airport faced another bomb threat recently after an email claimed that an explosive device had been planted in the terminal. The email, sent around 10 a.m. from an address under the name "Akram Vaikar," triggered an immediate security response.
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, along with airport staff, conducted extensive searches across the terminal and surrounding areas. Fortunately, no explosives were found. A case has been registered at the Bajpe police station, and a detailed investigation is underway.

The email reportedly made specific demands linked to controversial cases in Tamil Nadu. It sought the withdrawal of charges against alleged drug kingpin Jaffer Sadiq and Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, a film producer and wife of Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin. Additionally, the sender called for the release of S. Maran, the imprisoned leader of the Tamil Nadu Liberation Army (TNLA), currently held in Tiruchi Central Jail.
Meanwhile, a bomb threat was reported at Bengaluru's IBS Hotel in Sampangi Ramanagara on November 11. The email, sent to hotel management, warned of a potential explosion, leading to the immediate evacuation of guests and staff. Police, along with bomb and dog squads, conducted a thorough search of the premises but confirmed the threat was a hoax.
This incident is the latest in a series of threats targeting the airport, highlighting ongoing security challenges and the necessity of vigilance against such disruptive activities.
