Mangaluru Airport Issues Traffic Advisory For PM Modi's Roadshow On April 14

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has canceled his planned election rally in Mangaluru on April 14 and will instead conduct a roadshow in the city on the same day, as announced by Satish Kumpala, the president of the BJP's Dakshina Kannada unit.

The roadshow is scheduled to commence at 6 pm on that day, with Prime Minister Modi initiating the event by garlanding the statue of Narayana Guru at Narayana Guru Circle in Lady Hill. Later, the procession will proceed to Mangaluru Municipal Corporation in Lalbagh, followed by MG Road after Ballalbagh. It will then proceed through Navabharat Circle via PVS Circle and continue along KS Rao Road, concluding near the Hampankatte signal.

PM Modi s Roadshow

The BJP has cancelled the planned mega rally at Gold Finch Ground for reasons not known yet. However, the roadshow is expected to attract a large crowd, and the city police are expected to issue a traffic advisory in a couple of days in wake of the Prime Minister's event.

Speaking to the press on Wednesday, April 10, Kumpala stated that the rally originally scheduled at Gold Finch City grounds in Kuloor at 3 p.m. on Sunday has been called off for various reasons. Consequently, the Prime Minister will participate in the roadshow from Brahmashree Narayanaguru Circle (formerly Lady Hill Circle) to Hampankatta signal, passing through Lalbagh, PVS Circle, Navbharat Circle, and K.S. Rao Road at 5 p.m.

Kumpala mentioned that party workers from different parts of the district will attend the 2.5 km roadshow.

He also noted that the party's candidate for Dakshina Kannada, Captain Brijesh Chowta, has completed a round of visits to all Assembly segments to meet with party workers and voters. The party has also successfully held women's conventions in four Assembly segments, and the campaigning is proceeding as per the schedule.

Meanwhile, Mangaluru Airport has issued an advisory regarding traffic diversion on April 14 due to the VVIP visit. The advisory urges all passengers to allocate additional time to reach the airport.
