Auto driver charged Rs 700 for not wearing helmet
Mangaluru, July 31: Have you ever heard about the auto driver being charged for not wearing a helmet? No. But, an autorickshaw driver was fined ₹700 by the police of Puttur station on Monday for carrying more than three passengers and not wearing a helmet.
The auto driver was fined citing two violations - carrying more than three passengers and not wearing a helmet.

The receipt, issued by the police fining an auto driver for not wearing a helmet has now gone viral on various social media platforms.
The challan issued by the police PTR - 94807159 reads "without a helmet" under the Nature of Offence section. While the first violation was evident as the auto driver Vittala was ferrying nine school children, but netizens were not able to comprehend the second violation - not wearing a helmet.
However, the police were quick recalled the receipt and made the necessary correction.
