UP panchayat poll: Husband of candidate booked under Arms Act

Muzaffarnagar, Oct 4: A Panchayat candidate's husband was arrested and has been booked under the Arms Act after police recovered a pistol from his possession, a police official said on Sunday.

Furkan, husband of Kausar Jahan, a candidate, has been booked under Arms Act in Minranpur police station, SHO Arun Tyagi said.

He was arrested yesterday for keeping pistol illegally during campaign, Tyagi said.

Police intercepted his car yesterday when he was returning from a campaign and recovered pistol from his possession, he said.
