UP: Infant dies after falling from mother's lap as she was raped

Bareilly (UP), Mar 8: A 28-year-old woman was allegedly raped by the driver and conductor of a bus here, and her 14-day-old baby died as he fell from her lap during the scuffle, police said on Tuesday.

The woman boarded the bus last night to go to Rampur but slept in the vehicle with her two children on the advice of the driver and conductor.

She was allegedly raped in the vehicle, while her baby who fell from her lap as she fought to fend off the accused, died, police said.

The woman has been sent for medical examination and the infant's body sent for post-mortem, they said.
