Two sentenced to 3 years in prison for cow smuggling
Muzaffarnagar, Jul 26: A court has sentenced two persons to three years in prison for smuggling cows for slaughter in the district in 2011.
Additional District Sessions judge Abhimanun yesterday convicted, Tanvir and Shakil, under Section 3/8 of Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act 1955.

A fine of Rs 5,000 each was also imposed on the duo.
According to the prosecution, police had intercepted a truck and freed nine cows that were being smuggled for slaughtering on January 30, 2011.
A case was registered against, Tanvir and Shakil, in the case.
