Two Gandhis, five 'Rams' in poll fray in Amethi

There are total of 34 candidates, including a transgender, in the fray in this constituency that will go to polls tomorrow.
The 51-year-old Gopal Swaroop Gandhi, who is fighting on a Kisan Majdoor Berojgar Sangh ticket, has no links with the famous family with which he shares his surname.
A native of Auraiya, Gopal Swaroop claims that the neglect of people here by Congress would pave the way for his victory.
Rahul (43), who defeated his nearest BSP rival by a margin of 3.7 lakh votes in 2009, this time also has to contend with five 'Rams' and one 'Bhagwan'.
Although the contest is largely going to be a triangular one between Rahul Gandhi, Smriti Irani and Kumar Vishwas, these other candidates nonetheless feel that their chances of winning are bright.
