Six die in Uttar Pradesh blaze

Lucknow, April 29: Six people died in a fire incident in Bareilly on Friday, police said.

The tragedy occurred at a house near Kali Dham temple in the cantonment area. The deceased were identified as Bhuri (10), Durga (8), Saloni (17), Sanjana (15), Mahima (9) and Debu (7).

Prima facie the fire seems to have been caused by a candle which the family did not put off before sleeping, the police said. The elders of the family were away when the fire erupted.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and the parents of the children have been informed, an official said.
