Schools, colleges to remain closed for Kawad Yatra
Muzaffarnagar (UP), Jul 22: All schools and colleges in the district will remain closed from July 24 to August 1 in view of the 'Kawad' Yatra.
District Magistrate DK Singh said the authorities have ordered that all schools and intermediate colleges be closed from July 24 to August 1.

Kawad Yatra is annual pilgrimage of devotees of Shiva to Haridwar, Gaumukh and Gangotri in Uttarakhand and Sultanganj in Bihar to fetch holy water of Ganga, which is later offered at their local Shiva temples.
This year the Yatra started on July 19 and ends on August 1.
