Samajwadi Party MLA and his staff beaten up by junior doctors
Lucknow, March 3: In a shocking incident, Samajwadi Party MLA from Sisamau Irfan Solanki was allegedly assaulted and attacked by junior doctors of the Ganesh Shankar Vidhyarthi Memorial Medical College in Swaroop Nagar on Friday evening.
The doctors didn't even spare his driver and official gunner, the police said.
Irked over the incident, MLA's supporters went on a rampage in which several persons were injured, reported TOI.
The injured MLA along with his gunner and driver was admitted to a city hospital, where their condition was stated to be stable. Following the incident, heavy police force was deployed on and around GSVM campus to diffuse tension.
Junior doctors too have gone on strike paralyzing emergency services at GSVM's associate LLR Hospital. Police also cane-charged reporters, leaving many injured.
Police said a junior doctor's vehicle was hit from behind by another vehicle driven by an elderly man near Swaroop Nagar petrol pump. As angry junior doctor and his friends started roughing up the elderly man.
When the MLA tried to intervene, he was manhandled by the junior doctors, who also damaged his vehicle and assaulted his driver and gunner.
