Progress of UP Visible through Annadata: Yogi Adityanath

The Uttar Pradesh government highlights agricultural progress through tractor distribution at Kisan Samman Diwas, emphasising policy shifts since 2014, soil health awareness, and a Moringa-based livelihood model that supports rural women with steady incomes.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath distributed tractors to farmers in Lucknow during Kisan Samman Diwas, held on Chaudhary Charan Singh's birth anniversary. The programme underlined the state government's focus on agricultural growth, farmer welfare, and rural livelihoods, while crediting cultivators for Uttar Pradesh's wider development.

Addressing farmers and families at the event, Yogi Adityanath said their strong turnout showed rising trust in agriculture. "Today, we have distributed tractors to proud farmers who had come to this event with their families. Today, you all can witness the progress of the state due to the hard work of our 'annadata' farmers," he said, praising their role in Uttar Pradesh's progress.

The Chief Minister linked this progress to policy shifts since 2014 that placed agriculture at the centre of governance. "We can see the progress our farmers have made in the state. Farmers can also be included in the government's agenda; it has been possible only after 2014," Yogi said, highlighting sustained support for cultivators over the last decade.

Yogi Adityanath also stressed the importance of technology and scientific methods for higher yields. "With the help of the Soil Health Card, under the leadership of PM Modi, many farmers became aware of the health of our lands. Earlier, very few farmers used to have soil health cards," the CM said, noting better planning of crops and fertiliser use.

Alongside mechanisation, Yogi Adityanath's vision of a self-reliant Uttar Pradesh is seen in village-level livelihood schemes. In districts such as Lucknow, Ayodhya, Barabanki, Sultanpur, and Sitapur, a Moringa-based model is helping rural women secure regular work and gain stable incomes near their homes.

More than a thousand women now handle primary processing of Moringa leaves, seeds, and bark under this initiative. Dr. Kamini Singh, Director of JVKs Bio Energy Farmer Producer Company Limited, BKT Lucknow, said participants include Seema Devi, Baua Devi, Shalini Devi, Mamta Devi, Poonam Devi, Priyanka, and Rajkumari from Ghazipur village in Sidhauli block, besides women from other districts.

The Moringa project runs through Farmer Producer Organizations supported by the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, and has introduced group work, quality control, and better packaging. Participants are earning up to Rs. 10,000 each month and as much as Rs. 1.25 lakh yearly, reflecting how state-backed schemes and farmer-focused policies are shaping both agricultural productivity and rural incomes in Uttar Pradesh.
