Muzaffarnagar panchayat polls: First phase campaigning ends
Muzaffarnagar (UP), Oct 8: Campaigning for the first phase of panchayat and BDC elections in the district, to be held on Friday, Oct 9, ended today.
Assistant Election Officer Sanjiv Kumar today said 3,59,654 voters will exercise their franchise in the first phase to elect 11 district panchayat and 262 BDC members.

Voting will be held in two blocks - Sader and Purkazi - in the first phase in the district where 245 polling centres have been established, he said.
Meanwhile, District authorities have taken steps for smooth and peaceful conduct of the polls tomorrow.
In Uttar Pradesh, voting would be held in 218 blocks in the first phase tomorrow.
