Minister threatened a dalit for withdrawal of a case: Congress
New Delhi, Jul 27: Congress today raised in the Lok Sabha the issue of a Union Minister allegedly threatening a dalit in Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh recently with dire consequences if he failed to withdraw a court case.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Rajiv Satav said that reports that a Union Minister was pressurising a dalit to withdraw a certain case were disturbing.
He said that neither the Minister concerned, nor the government has so far responded in the matter despite several reports in the last one week alleging that the Minister had threatened the dalit that his family would face dire consequences if he failed to act.
While Satav did not take the name of anyone, reports had it that Union Minister Maneka Gandhi was the one who had allegedly issued the threat.
