Man throws acid on wife in UP

Muzaffarnagar, May 24: A man allegedly threw acid on his wife when she opposed his remarriage, police said today.

According to the complaint lodged by victim's father, his daughter was being harassed for dowry by her husband, Rahim and in-laws. Later, Rahim married another woman and when his daughter opposed it he threw acid on her, SHO Shoaib Khan said.

She was admitted to a hospital. A case has been registered against her husband and in-laws who are absconding. Efforts are on to nab them, police said.
