Lucknow Congress President Neeraj Bora resigns; to support Rajnath

, Apr 13: In a setback to the party,

Lucknow president Neeraj Bora on Sunday dissolved the city unit and resigned, alleging that present policies of the party and personal agenda of its leaders were not in the interest of the country.

"I am resigning from the primary membership of the party as I feel that present policies and personal agenda of its leaders are not in the interest of the country", Bora said.

Though he denied of having plans of joining any political party but maintained that he would support BJP's National President and candidate from Lucknow, Rajnath Singh, who had done a lot for the city and state as Chief Minister.

"I am not going to join any party as of now. I will continue to serve the people of Lucknow as a doctor but I will support Rajnath Singh ", he said in a statement.

Congress has fielded MLA Rita Bahuguna Joshi against Rajnath Singh.

Bora said that his suggestions were ignored in the party, which failed on all fronts including checking price-rise, corruption.
