Lok Sabha elections 2014: Samajwadi Party replaces three candidates

Lok Sabha elections 2014: Samajwadi Party replaces three candidates
Lucknow, Jan 7: In the run up to the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, the Samajwadi Party has announced new names for three Lok Sabha seats.

On Monday the SP declared the name of Manoj Kumar Singh from the Robertsganj constituency.

Meanwhile candidates in Shravasti and Varanasi constituencies were replaced. Party general MP Ram Gopal Yadav said that Mohamman Masood had replaced Yasir Shah from Shravasti while Kailash Chaurasiya had replaced Surendra Singh Patel in Varanasi constituency. Surendra Singh Patel is the Minister of state for PWD.

The party has, however, not cited any reason for the change. Reports suggest that these candidates were fielded so that in case if there were any better individuals, they could be replaced easily.

Since November 2013 six candidates have been replaced by the party, this after party president Mulayam Singh announced that there won't be anymore changes in the party ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections.
