Kamakhya–Ayodhya Train Boosts Pilgrim Connectivity Under Yogi Government; Check Schedule

India's Indian Railways announces a new Kamakhya Devi Amrit Bharat train, connecting Dibrugarh, Kamakhya, Ayodhya Dham, and Gomti Nagar on a weekly basis. A provisional timetable is issued while a permanent schedule is prepared, alongside Khichdi Mela unreserved specials to manage festival crowds.

Indian Railways is adding a new long-distance link for pilgrims travelling between Uttar Pradesh and Assam. A Kamakhya Devi Amrit Bharat train from Dibrugarh to Gomti Nagar, via Kamakhya, Gorakhpur and Ayodhya Dham, will start on 18 January and operate once a week.

The first run of this Kamakhya Devi Amrit Bharat train will receive a formal flag-off on 18 January. Officials state that a permanent timetable will be released later. For now, a provisional schedule has been prepared so passengers can plan journeys early.

Kamakhya Devi Amrit Bharat train route and weekly schedule

Under the proposed timing, the Kamakhya Devi Amrit Bharat train leaves Dibrugarh at 9.00 pm. It reaches Gorakhpur at 7.15 am on the third day. From there, it departs again and arrives at Ayodhya Dham at 10.10 am, before heading towards Gomti Nagar.

The Kamakhya Devi Amrit Bharat train stops at Ayodhya Dham for 10 minutes, then reaches Gomti Nagar at 1.15 pm. This service provides an additional direct option to both Ayodhya Dham and the Kamakhya temple. It is also expected to ease waiting lists on the present single Dibrugarh service.

Railway planners framed the Kamakhya Devi Amrit Bharat train schedule under a wider connectivity idea. The aim is to link the Shakti Peeth at Kamakhya with Ayodhya Dham through a single through-service. The Railway Board had asked Northeast Frontier Railway to submit a detailed proposal quickly.

Northeast Frontier Railway prepared the route and timings and then sent the Kamakhya Devi Amrit Bharat train proposal for final clearance. The Railway Board has now accepted this plan. With approval granted, officials can start the weekly operation while they refine the permanent timetable based on demand trends.

Kamakhya Devi Amrit Bharat train and Khichdi Mela special services

Alongside the Kamakhya Devi Amrit Bharat train, an unreserved Khichdi Mela special will run between Nautanwa and Gorakhpur. Train 05016 and 05015 are planned for ten trips during the Makar Sankranti period, aimed at handling festival crowds more efficiently.

According to the schedule, 05016 Nautanwa–Gorakhpur unreserved Mela Special runs from 13 to 22 January. It leaves Nautanwa at 8.50 pm and reaches Gorakhpur at 12.15 am. The return 05015 Gorakhpur–Nautanwa unreserved Mela Special runs from 14 to 23 January, departing 2.30 am and arriving 5.15 am.
