Yogi Government Set to Deliver Harauni Railway Crossing Bridge by March 2026, Relief for Five Lakh Residents

The Harouni railway crossing bridge near Harouni station is entering final construction, with span girder launching underway after railway blocks were approved. The project will provide a direct route for over five lakh residents, reducing detours, travel time and fuel costs, and easing goods movement along the Bani Mohan Road corridor.

About five lakh residents around Lucknow’s Bani-Mohan Road are set to save time and fuel, as the Harauni railway crossing bridge near Harouni railway station moves into its final construction stage. Span girder placement has started over the railway line, and officials plan to open the bridge for traffic in March 2026, ending a routine six-kilometre diversion.

People from nearby villages and industrial pockets currently travel an extra six kilometres to cross the railway line safely. This long detour affects daily workers, students, freight vehicles and local businesses. Once direct movement resumes on the Harauni railway crossing bridge, local travel patterns are expected to shift quickly towards the shorter link.

Construction progress and delays on Harauni railway crossing bridge

The Harouni railway crossing bridge project is being executed by Setu Nigam, which had finished the main superstructure on both sides of the track in September 2025. The bridge was earlier targeted for completion by 25 December 2025. However, linking both ends required a 63.40‑metre span girder across the tracks, and construction teams could not proceed without an official railway block.

Project officials stated that repeated requests were sent to railway authorities for the block needed to lift and place the span. After several rounds of coordination, the railways finally granted a daily block of two hours in two shifts for 17 days. With this window approved, the department has already begun launching the span girder for the Harouni railway crossing bridge.

Finishing schedule and public use plan for Harouni railway crossing bridge

According to departmental estimates, span girder launching across the tracks should be completed by the end of January 2026, physically joining the two prepared sections. February 2026 has been reserved for road surface pitching, installation of street lights and other finishing works. If this timetable holds, people will start using the Harauni railway crossing bridge from March 2026.

Officials highlight that once the Harauni railway crossing bridge opens, more than five lakh people will gain a direct, shorter route across the railway line. The bridge is expected to cut congestion at nearby points, reduce travel time and lower fuel expenses for regular commuters, while also making movement for goods vehicles smoother along the Bani-Mohan Road corridor.
