Work to Begin on Over 143 Km of Roads

Authorities have confirmed that renovation work on roads stretching about 143.71 kilometres will commence shortly. The Public Works Department (PWD) is currently completing the tender process to ensure timely execution of the project.

Damaged and pothole-ridden roads across rural regions and other parts of the district are expected to undergo a transformation. With the first instalment now available, the path has been cleared to initiate renewal work on 418 rural roads along with six additional district routes.

Repairs Expected to Ease Travel

The PWD will undertake repair and renovation through a formal tender process. Once completed, the condition of broken roads is likely to improve considerably, reducing inconvenience for commuters and making travel smoother.

After the contracts are awarded, a timeline will also be set for completing the work. Roads identified for repair include the Tikri Bazaar to Tiwari Purwa route, Gauraiya link road, Tikri link road to Laxman Pur, Parsapur Dhanwa link road to Pandey Pur, and the Kalyan Pur link road, among several others. Other district roads (ODR) are also part of the project.

Key District Roads to See Transformation

Approval exceeding ₹97 lakh has been granted for six Other District Roads, with ₹9.11 lakh already released. These include three roads under the construction division and three under the provincial division.

Among the routes selected are the Mankapur Bhatta road via Tendua Ranipur to Itaila Khurd Chhapia Mandir, the Gonda-Ayodhya road to Rampur Kharhanta Holapur via Motiganj Dumariyadih, the CBN road from Durjanpur to Ghacha Bikapur Semra Shekhpur Chaukhadiya, and the Katra Kishundaspur Akbarpur Mainpur Durjanpur Chauraha road.

Several rural roads, including those in Babhangawan, Tambepur, Palhapur link road, Khirabha, Govind Para, and Bhadua Tarhar, will also undergo general repair and renewal.

More Projects Likely to Receive Approval Soon

Public Works Department Superintending Engineer Yogendra Singh said, "The renewal and repair work plan for the year 2025-26 was sent to the government. After examination at the state level, approval has been granted. These roads in the district will be renovated and repaired. Competent authorities of the construction and provincial divisions are completing the tender process. More works will soon receive approval from the government."

The upcoming upgrades are expected to strengthen infrastructure across the district, offering safer and more reliable road connectivity for residents.
