Farmers should take benefits of crop insurance scheme: Hema Malini
Mathura, May 1: Local MP and actress Hema Malini on Satuday termed as "turning point" the new crop insurance scheme for farmers and asked them to take its benefits.
Inaugurating a farmer awareness programme and agriculture exhibition in Deen Dayal Upadhyay Veterinary University and Gou Anusandhan Kendra here, she called on the farmers to take advantage of the scheme which so far only 23 per cent of them had taken.

She said the crop insurance scheme may change the lives of the farmers.
"It would be a turning point in deciding the fate of the country," Malini said, adding that the new scheme has been prepared after due consideration of the shortcomings of the previous scheme.
