'Even Lord Ram cannot stop rape incidents', says UP BJP MLA Surendra Singh

Lucknow, July 8: A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Surendra Singh yet again stirred up a controversy with his statementthat even Lord Ram cannot stop incidents of rape.

When asked his reaction over the recent incident of molestation in Unnao, Singh said,''"I can only say one thing that incidents of rapes cannot be stopped even if Lord Ram comes on earth. Such incidents are natural pollution of society and can only be controlled by inculcating good values in the society."

He further added the Constitutuon of the country can't do much to stop rapes. The criminals can only be sent behind bars.

Surendra Singh is repeatedly making controversial remarks, which are continuing to embarrass the BJP.

He recently demanded Taj Mahal to be renamed 'Ram Mahal', a statement, which was crticised by other political parties.

Singh had earlier landed in a soup for making statements like "prostitutes are better than government staffs", and blaming parents and smart-phones for rising rape incidents. Singh had earlier compared government officials with prostitutes. "Prostitutes are better than officials. They take money and dance all night. But these officers despite taking money from the public don't do work," Surendra Singh said.
