Egg vendor shot by local goon for not putting onions in omelette

, Sept 24: Rising onion prices put this man's life in danger. On Tuesday, egg vendor Deepu Kashyap was shot by a local criminal, Pujari. His fault; he did not put onions in an omelette, the police said.

Pujari, who had ordered an omelette for four of his friends became furious, when he found out that the omelette he ordered for didnt have onions.

He asked Kashyap as to why he had not added onions to their omelettes, to which he repiled saying that he could not afford onions as they had become expensive in the last week.

In a fit of rage, Pujari then fished out his pistol and shot the vendor, the police said. Kashyap was then immediately rushed to the hospital.

The police maintained that the assailants were local criminals and had many cases registered against them. A case under attempt to murder and extortion has been slapped on them, they added.
