Durga Nagpal transferred to Kanpur after revocation of suspension

Lucknow, Sept 28: In less than a week after the revocation of her suspension, Uttar Pradesh IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal was posted as Joint Magistrate of

on Friday night. Nagpal's suspension was reinstated with full honours.

Nagpal, who was awaiting for a posting after the revocation of her suspension, had earlier met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav along with her husband, who is also an IAS officer.

Nagpal had taken on sand mafia in Gautam Budh Nagar, where she was earlier posted. This action of hers had then earned her the wrath of the state government and she was suspended from her post. Her suspension had then triggered a major controversy in the country.

The departmental inquiry against her was also closed. Her husband is already posted in the same district.

Along with her , 24 others were also transferred in a reshuffle carried out by the state government.
