Double Murder In UP: Why Did A Local Barber Kill Two Children In Badaun?

In a horrific incident of double murder, two children, Ayush (13) and Honey (6), were brutally killed in Baba Colony, Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, allegedly by Sajid, a local barber, on Tuesday evening, according to police reports.

Sajid, 22, who owned a shop near the victims' residence, reportedly entered their house around 7:30 pm. At that time, the children were at home with their paternal grandmother, as their father, Vinod Singh, was at the market, and their mother, Sangeeta, was at her beauty parlour. Sajid, armed with a sharp-edged weapon, attacked the children, slitting their throats. The third child, Piyush (8), sustained minor injuries but managed to escape and raise an alarm.

Double Murder Mystery in Badaun

Approximately two hours after the murders, Sajid was reportedly killed in a police encounter when he opened fire on a police team pursuing him. UP Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar stated that Sajid was shot dead during the encounter.

The motive behind the killings remains unclear. The victims' father, Vinod Singh, mentioned that they had no prior interaction with Sajid and were unaware of the reason behind the attack. However, locals suggested that Sajid had frequent disputes with a neighbour's family.

Following the incident, heavy police security was deployed in Baba Colony to maintain peace as locals protested against the gruesome murders. The police have registered an FIR against Sajid and his brother Javed based on the complaint filed by the victims' father. The police are also investigating the circumstances that led to the murders.
