Bulandshahr DM reprimands officials over shoddy work; video goes viral

Bulandshahr, Dec 18: An honest District Magistrate (DM) was seen lashing out at the junior staff over shoddy work in Bulanshahr district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, Dec 17.

According to reports, B Chadrakala was inspecting a road construction site where she found irregularities in the poor quality products for the road construction. The bricks and tiles were found to be of substandard quality.

Then, the brave officer reprimanded municipal officers, junior engineers and other civic officials for not doing their work in a proper manner.

A report claimed that one of the three contracters is the brother of a local leader of the ruling Samajwadi Party.

She ordered an inquiry into the matter and said that the guilty will get strict punishment.

Chandrakala was earlier deputed as DM in Mathura district and has been recently shifted to Bulandshahr.

It was a disappointment for the locals of Mathura, that Chandrakala, who is said to be close to the BJP, was shifted as she had won their hearts by instantly taking action against the complaints, a local report said.

Last year, an honest IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal had raised her voice against illegal mining in Greater Noida, but she was ostensibly suspended by the Samajwadi Party-led UP government.

But this year, she was reinstated and her name was cleared for the Central deputations. [Durga Shakti Nagpal's name cleared for central deputations]

Here is the video of the Bulandshahr DM, B Chandrakala, that went viral on social media:
