2 held for assaulting UP minister's son, driver

The incident took place yesterday when Rakesh Yadav, son of state minister for Zoological gardens Shiv Pratap Yadav, was returning home with his driver Saud Ahmad after by- elections for Nagar Palika chairman.
Yadav was allegedly attacked by K D Shukla, an independent candidate for the chairman's post and six others, police said. However, police reached the spot and resorted to baton charge to control the mob.
An FIR has been registered against Shukla and six others in this connection and two persons have been arrested, Balrampur Superintendent of Police Rahul said.
Yadav and his driver received minor injuries in the incident and were provided medical aid.
