Procedure

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C).
  2. Remove the seeds and strings from the squash halves.
  3. Cut a small piece off the outside of each half to create a flat base.
  4. Place the halves in a shallow pan or casserole dish with ¼ inch (6 mm) of water, insides facing down. Bake for 35 minutes.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the marmalade and butter.
  6. Remove the squash from the oven and invert them in the pan or dish. Lightly salt them.
  7. Spread the marmalade and butter mixture on the edges of the squash, allowing excess to run into the centre.
  8. Place under the broiler for about 5 minutes or until lightly browned.
