West Bengal Doctor Rape-Murder Case: Did Kolkata Police Tell Family Of Deceased Doctor About Possible Suicide?
The Kolkata Police on Wednesday cleared the air after false reports claiming that state police has informed the family of the deceased doctor about a possible suicide. Junking all such reports related to sensitive rape and murder case, Kolkata Police said that they did not make any call to the family of the deceased, and her body of cremated by her family only.
There were also reports that the police is trying to create pressure on the deceased's family as the state government is facing the heat now, however, the police in its latest statement made it clear that all such reports are false.

"...Reports of Kolkata Police informing the family about a possible suicide are false. The family confirmed the call did not come from Kolkata Police. Kolkata Police did not cremate the body of the deceased. It was her family who cremated her," Kolkata Police's clarification statement related to burning questions related to RG Kar Medical College and Hospital rape-murder case.
A day ago, the Calcutta High Court transferred the case to CBI and ordered the West Bengal police to hand over all documents related to the case to the central agency.
The bench led by Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam noted that there has been "no significant progress in the investigation" so far and flagged the possibility of destruction of evidence.
Meanwhile, doctors across the country are on strike, and medical services have been halted.
