According to a report by India Today, Khan was not just shot but also brutally attacked with sharp weapons.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, with residents and party members expressing both grief and anger over the violent nature of the killing. Police have since cordoned off the area and launched a full-scale investigation. Kolkata Police confirmed that several locals have been questioned, and CCTV footage from the vicinity is being analyzed for clues. An autopsy is scheduled, and early indications suggest that a group of assailants coordinated the deadly assault.

Political reactions have been swift. Local TMC MLA Saukat Molla, a close associate of the slain leader, visited the crime scene shortly after the news broke. Visibly distraught, Molla condemned the killing and demanded urgent action from law enforcement. He directly accused miscreants backed by the Indian Secular Front (ISF) of orchestrating the attack and called for their immediate arrest.

"This is not just an attack on an individual; it's an assault on democracy and peace in the region," Molla stated, urging authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice without delay.

The motive behind the killing remains unclear, but the calculated and brutal nature of the attack has sparked fears about deteriorating law and order in Bhangar. Party workers and residents alike are demanding swift arrests and greater protection for local leaders, especially in politically sensitive areas.
