"I'll Take A Card And Colour It Green”: Diljit Dosanjh On US Citizenship Rumours

Is Diljit Dosanjh a US citizen? Since May, rumours about his citizenship have sparked conversations on social media. As per the reports, the singer and actor received American citizenship in 2022. However, the claims were not acknowledged until recently, Diljit brought this topic in an Instagram Live session.

One person suggested that Diljit should apply for a US Green Card after his film Satluj was removed from streaming platform ZEE5. Diljit replied, "I'll just take a card and paint it green. I'm not saying anything because people will ignore everything else and turn this into a headline. The world's drama never ends."

"I think everyone should be free to travel anywhere. The whole world should feel like one place. But things don't work that way," he added.

Another fan asked Diljit to speak to US President Donald Trump and help everyone get American citizenship. Diljit responded, "What do you all think of me? I'm just an artiste.

How can I ask him to solve citizenship issues?"

He further said that Trump's daughter follows him on social media but the duo have never spoken. "I never ask anyone for favours. If something is meant to happen, it will happen. If not, then it won't," he said.

In an earlier report by The Indian Express, it was mentioned that Diljit owned US citizenship. The report also stated that his wife, Sandeep Kaur, is a US citizen and that the actor listed a five-bedroom home in California as his residence.

Diljit has not publicly commented on these reports.

Diljit's Film That Was Removed From The Platform

Satluj, earlier titled Punjab 95, is based on the life of Jaswant Singh Khalra who is a human rights activist from Punjab.

The film was supposed to be in theatres but due to the issues with Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), the film faced long delays. Four years later, Satluj was finally released on ZEE5 but in just a span of two days of its streaming, it was removed from the platform.

The Honey Trehan's directorial includes Diljit Dosanjh, Arjun Rampal, Suvinder Vicky and Geetika Vidya Ohlyan in the cast.
