Kolkata Metro To Increase Weekday Services On Blue Line, Enhancing Commuter Experience Starting August 25, 2023

Starting August 25, Kolkata Metro will enhance its weekday services on the Blue Line, running between Dakshineswar and Sahid Khudiram. A Metro railway spokesperson stated that the number of trains will rise from 262 to 284. This decision aims to accommodate the increasing commuter demand.

"To meet the demand of commuters, authorities are going to increase Metro services from August 25," said a spokesperson on Sunday. "Metro will run 284 (142 UP + 142 DN) services on the Blue Line from Monday," he added.

Blue Line's Role in Kolkata's Transit

The Blue Line is Kolkata's oldest Metro route, linking the city's northern and southern edges. Despite the increase in weekday services, there will be no changes to the schedule on Saturdays and Sundays.
