Kerala Man Flashes Private Parts At Girl On Coimbatore-Mangaluru Intercity Train, Arrested

A Kerala man has been arrested for flashing his genitals at a college student seated on the opposite side of the Coimbatore-Mangaluru Intercity Express train.

The incident occurred on July 31, onboard the inter-city express as it was passing through Kannur district, the cops said. The accused has been identified as 51-year-old George.

Based on the complaint filed by two women, he was arrested by Kasaragod Railway Police after the train reached Kasaragod station. A case was also lodged under sections 119(a) (performing sexual gestures or acts in public places degrading the dignity of women) of the Kerala Police Act and section 509 (insult modesty of a woman) of the IPC.

Thereafter, the case and the accused were handed over to Kannur Railway Police as the incident occurred while the train was passing through Kannur.

The student had taken the train from Shoranur in Palakkad district, and the man was already seated opposite to her, sources informed PTI.

The girl has said in her complaint that the man indecently touched his private parts while sitting in front of her. She recorded the incident on her mobile phone and confronted the man in anger. Subsequently, he got up from his seat and left.

The incident gained attention after its visuals went viral and were subsequently broadcasted on TV channels on Tuesday.
